It Need not be Expensive!

Many people end up spending a fortune on their gardening but it does not have to be that way. It is possible to create a stunning gardening inexpensively, leaving you enough money to spend on hammocks and luxury garden furniture to let you really enjoy your outdoor space. Many of the garden centres charge a fortune for bedding and other plants and if you are planting up borders or containers this can work out extremely expensive. But there are other options – many of the spring and summer fetes and charities sell plants donated by volunteers, and this can work out a much cheaper option.

You can also share cuttings between friends, which will benefit all of you. Although it can seem daunting to a beginner it is fairly easy to grow new plants from your existing ones. More experienced friends will give you advice on how to do this or you can look it up on the internet.

New pots and containers too are fairly expensive, but it is worth looking around your local recycling facilities or your local paper for free ones. Many people find themselves with too many pots at the end of the year and are only too happy to give them away.

By only paying the minimum for your gardening needs, you save money for the luxuries.
